Slate keeps the apps that take your time locked by default. To open them, you walk. Steps buy fifteen minutes, and every unlock that day costs more than the last.

HOW IT WORKS • Pick the apps you lose hours to. They stay locked. • Walk. Your first unlock is 600 steps. • The next costs 1,200. Then 1,800. Double after 10pm. • Everything resets at 4am.
LOCK IN • Start a focus session and every locked app stays shut until the timer ends. No unlocks, no way out.
WALK WITH YOUR PHONE LOCKED • Your steps to go sit in the Dynamic Island and on your Lock Screen while you walk.
BUILT TO HOLD • Changes that make Slate easier wait until tomorrow, so a bad moment can't undo the rule. • Your record counts the days you stay under your limit. Unlocking past it ends the record, and Slate tells you before you do. • Calls, Messages and the apps you choose are never locked. Three emergency unlocks a week.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. Steps come from Apple Health and stay on your iPhone. Slate can't see which apps you open or for how long, and your health and app-usage data never leave your phone.
