About
SomeoneKnows helps you people who live alone can feel uneasy after a strange knock, noise in a hallway, or another ambiguous event that does not justify an emergency call. Explaining the situation in a chat can feel like too much work at exactly the wrong moment. Someone Knows provides one deliberately small core journey: configure one trusted person, hold a large control for two seconds, review a prefilled reassurance message in the system Messages composer, and choose whether to start an on-device check-back countdown. The promise is narrow: help the user tell one person “I feel uneasy; please stay reachable” with minimal disclosure. The app does not detect danger, send silently, confirm delivery, monitor the recipient, contact emergency services, record audio, collect location, or replace Apple Emergency SOS or Check In. The system composer always leaves final sending under user control. The strategic difference is not more surveillance or faster dispatch. It is less data, less explanation, and broader recipient compatibility: no account, no server, no companion app, no live location, and no requirement that the recipient use a recent iPhone. The complete MVP is free.
