About
Fifty states, the District of Columbia and five territories: where each one sits on the map, its capital, its largest cities, and what the place is actually known for.
Statelore is built for the way memory works. You look at a place, you learn one vivid thing about it, and then you are asked about it until you no longer have to think. Every state comes with its own engraving, because a picture is what your memory reaches for later.
WHAT IS INSIDE
• A map of the whole country you can tap. Every state, plus Alaska, Hawaii and the territories. • A card for each of the 56 places: capital, largest city, other major cities, and the landmarks, rivers and firsts that make it distinct. • Quizzes that ask in both directions. State to capital, and capital to state — because knowing one does not mean you know the other. • Silhouette rounds. Recognise Oklahoma by its shape alone. • Rounds by region: Northeast, South, Midwest, West. • A quiz on any single state, from that state's own card. • Progress that remembers which places you keep missing, and a round that drills only those.
HONEST FACTS
The capitals, cities and figures are checked, not scraped. Population and area come from the 2020 Decennial Census, so the numbers stay stable rather than drifting with every estimate. If you ever find a mistake, write to us and it gets fixed.
NO ACCOUNT, NO ADS, NO NETWORK
There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to. Everything ships inside the app, so it works on a plane, in a car with no signal, or in a classroom with no Wi-Fi. Statelore makes no network requests at all: no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party code. Your progress is kept on your device and nowhere else.
One price, once. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no locked states waiting behind a second payment.
FOR WHOM
Students facing a geography or social studies test. Anyone preparing for the US citizenship interview. Newcomers who want to stop nodding vaguely when someone mentions Des Moines. Trivia players. Parents who would rather hand a child this than something with ads in it.
