Step Tomo: Step Counter Pet

Walk, and a little friend walks with you. Step Tomo is a step counter with a cozy pixel-art pet that hatches from an egg, grows with every step and lives in a Japanese house on a floating island. (Tomo means friend in Japanese.)

HATCH A SURPRISE PET Every pet starts as an egg. Your first one hatches on a short walk as you set up, and who's inside is a surprise. Buy more eggs with coins and pick which one; each new egg warms up over 3 days of 2,000 steps, then hatches: • Sprig, a little plant that loves steady daily steps • Kindle, a small flame that loves a brisk pace • Trundle, a patient long-hauler that loves a streak. It grows into a Wanderer with a walking stick. • Puff, a round blue bird that loves stairs and flights • Scout, a pup that grows into Ranger Every pet evolves through three stages, and every egg has a 1 in 64 chance to hatch shiny.

EVERY STEP COUNTS One step is one XP. Level up, fill the evolution track and see how many steps you have walked together. Your pet's mood follows your day: peckish when it needs a walk, fed and happy as you move, walking beside you, asleep at night, and celebrating with a full belly when you reach your goal.

A COZY HOME Your pet lives in a Japanese house with a cherry tree, a koi pond and a waterfall off the edge of the island. The home follows the time of day, from blue skies through dusk to a starry night. Tap to say hi, hold to pet.

WALK TOGETHER Set a time or step goal and walk with your pet around a 1-mile loop through the Japanese countryside: torii gates, a cherry-blossom avenue, bamboo, rice terraces, a hillside shrine, bridges and a mountain on the horizon. Other players' pets walk the path too; tap one to see who it is. Find collectibles like acorns and blue feathers along the way.

WALK HISTORY, REPLAY AND HIGHLIGHTS Every walk is saved with its route, splits per mile or km, finds and XP. Replay the route, watch a short highlight of the walk and save it as an image. Charts, your best day, a goal calendar and your streak.

COINS AND SHOP Earn a coin for every 100 steps and by selling your walk finds. Spend coins on new eggs and on crowns, bandanas and bows for your pet, and try them on first. Coin packs are also available as in-app purchases.

WALK WITH FRIENDS Share your friend code to see each other's pets and daily steps, and send a wave.

CLOUD BACKUP Your pets, coins, shop items and walk history are backed up, so they come back if you reinstall the app. No sign-in needed. Your walk routes never leave your iPhone.

APPLE WATCH Your pet, today's steps, distance, flights, streak and XP on your wrist. Start a walk from the watch with the Digital Crown, see your heart rate, and save the walk to Apple Health as a workout. Complications and a Smart Stack card keep your pet a glance away.

APPLE HEALTH Step Tomo reads steps, distance, flights climbed, active energy, exercise minutes and heart rate from Apple Health, and counts your walks live with your iPhone, Apple Watch or AirPods.
