About
Tazuna (手綱, "the reins") is a lesson diary for club riders who get a different horse every lesson.
CHECK THE HORSE BEFORE YOU RIDE Type a few letters of the horse's name and its quick card opens: quirk tags such as "has a stiff rein", "spooky" or "behind the leg", your notes from last time, what your instructor said, and the goal you set last lesson. A few seconds at the mounting block saves the first part of the lesson you would otherwise spend figuring the horse out.
A DIARY ENTRY IN TWO MINUTES Pick the horse, date, lesson type and instructor, then note what your instructor said, what went well and your goal for next time. Find past lessons by horse, or by jumping and dressage, in seconds.
RECORD RIDES ON APPLE WATCH Tap Start ride on the watch and leave your iPhone in the locker. Tazuna records gait (walk, trot, canter), route, distance, left and right turns and calories, and the iPhone shows the route coloured by gait on a map. Press and hold the watch screen to pause during a ride.
YOUR ARENA, NOT A GPS SCRIBBLE Register your club's arena on a satellite map, and rides recorded there are drawn on the arena's plan.
AVATARS FROM YOUR PHOTOS Turn a horse photo into one of three avatar styles (photo, dot, pixel), made on the device. The same face appears in the list, on the card, in the diary and on the watch.
YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE No account needed. Horses, lessons, photos and rides are stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch and are never sent to a server. You can export everything as a JSON file from Settings.
