About

Know where the shadow of a measured object is likely to fall before a shoot, site visit, or outdoor installation. Umbrafield turns manually entered coordinates, date, UTC offset, and object height into a clear sun-and-shadow study.

Move through the local day on a ground-plane dial. See the sun's approximate altitude and true-north azimuth, then the projected shadow bearing and length. Mark useful times, compare an hourly register, save multiple studies on your device, and share a one-page PDF field sheet or CSV hourly table. An editable sample courtyard lets you try the entire workflow without finding coordinates first.

Umbrafield uses an offline solar-position approximation. It does not request your location, fetch maps or weather, or model terrain, buildings, nearby objects, or atmospheric refraction. The UTC offset is entered manually and should reflect daylight saving time at the site on the chosen date. Shadow lengths become highly sensitive near the horizon. Check the actual site before relying on any placement or timing.

One upfront purchase. No account, subscription, ads, analytics, tracking, cloud processing, or developer-server upload. Studies remain on your device unless you choose to export them.
