Vocab Trainer for Textbooks

Vocab Trainer is a free app that takes vocabulary from a photographed book page and quizzes you on it in different ways.

Scanning The app recognises word and translation in the photo and shows the pairs for you to check. It leaves out pronunciation, headings and page numbers. Text recognition reads English, French, Spanish, Italian, Latin and more languages. Lists can also be pasted as text or entered by hand.

Practice modes • Flashcards: flip, knew it or not • Write: type the translation • Multiple choice: four answers, one is right • Listen: hear the word and write it • Match: connect word and translation against the clock • Cover: one column is hidden, tap to uncover • Quiz me: a second person sees question and answer and taps "Right" or "Wrong"

Reviewing The app uses a flashcard box: words you know come back after a few days, words you missed come back in the same round. With a test date, it spreads the reviews until that day and reminds you. Lists can be printed as a vocabulary test.
