Record a meeting, class or interview with one tap and watch the words appear as people talk. When you stop, your iPhone works out who said what, and you get a transcript with speaker names and timestamps, ready to export. Recording, transcription and speaker separation happen entirely on this iPhone. No sign-up, no ads. We have no servers; the app only connects to Apple's own services.
ONE TAP TO RECORD • Record for as long as you need. Recording keeps going when you lock the phone or switch apps; the timer stays on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, where you can add a mark or pause. • A phone call pauses the recording, and it picks up again when you hang up, with the gap marked on the timeline. If iOS closes the app, what was recorded is recovered the next time you open it. • Start from a Control Center button or with Siri.
LIVE TEXT, THEN WHO SAID WHAT • Read the live transcript while you record. • After recording, the iPhone separates the speakers and transcribes again speaker by speaker, with punctuation and paragraphs (Pro; new users get 3 free tries). Lock the phone while it works; you'll get a notification when it's done. • Rename a speaker once and it changes everywhere. Merge two speakers who are really one person, or split from a sentence when someone else took over.
FIVE LANGUAGES • Mandarin comes with the app, including English words mixed into Chinese. • English, Cantonese, Japanese and Korean share one model of about 230 MB, downloaded once from Apple's servers the first time you choose one. After that, transcription stays on this iPhone. • Mandarin and Cantonese can be written in Traditional characters.
PROOFREAD AGAINST THE AUDIO • Tap a sentence to play from there, then tap again to fix a word. Playback speed and a 3-second rewind are right at hand. • Words the transcription wasn't sure about are highlighted. Tap "uncertain spots" under the title to listen and confirm them one by one (Mandarin recordings). • Add names, organizations and technical terms to the Glossary, and words that sound alike are written your way (Pro).
IMPORT AND EXPORT • Import audio from Files, Voice Memos or WeChat. Batch import and video transcription (Pro). • Copy all the text or export TXT. Export Word, PDF and SRT subtitles (Pro).
ORGANIZE AND PROTECT • Folders, search across every recording (including what was said), and multi-select to export or move. • Optional iCloud Sync, stored in your own iCloud. Face ID Lock.
FREE AND PRO Free: record without a length limit; the first 30 minutes of each recording are transcribed, and the rest is saved in full and can be played. Folders, search, proofreading, TXT export, Copy All Text, iCloud Sync and Face ID Lock are always free, with no ads. Pro is a one-time purchase — no subscription, no auto-renewal, and it works with Family Sharing. It adds transcription of any length, unlimited speaker separation, Word, PDF and SRT export, the Glossary, batch import and video transcription. New users get 3 Pro tries: a recording counts only if it's longer than 30 minutes or has two or more speakers.
