About

WordLeaf helps readers ages 13 and up explore English words and read pages at their own pace. Designed for iPad and fully usable on iPhone.

WORD: DISCOVER A MEANING Type or say a word to explore English definitions, pronunciation and examples. Ask for simpler wording where available, then save useful words for later.

READ: BRING YOUR OWN PAGE Photograph a page, import a photo, or paste text. Tap words without losing your place. On a wide iPad, keep word help beside the passage or hide it for a full-width reading view.

LISTEN AND FOLLOW Natural English voices are included for offline use on supported physical devices, with Apple speech as a fallback. Follow highlighted words, pause and resume, drag the reading progress bar to choose a word, and select a slower or faster reading speed.

SAVE AND PRACTICE Build a personal word collection and revisit it with short review questions. Separate local reader profiles keep each reader's saved words and preferences together. Adjust reading text size to suit you.

ENGLISH FIRST English definitions stay visible when optional translations are enabled. The offline dictionary includes original draft definitions and attributed open reference sources. Default filtering hides identified explicit or graphic meanings; it cannot identify every mature topic.

ON-DEVICE BY DESIGN Reader photos, voice input, profiles and saved words stay on your device. No WordLeaf account, advertising or third-party analytics. Optional generated explanations require iOS/iPadOS 26 or later on an Apple Intelligence-compatible device with Apple Intelligence enabled and ready. Optional translations depend on supported Apple capabilities and available models or language packs. The core offline dictionary works without Apple Intelligence.

14 DAYS TO EXPLORE Claim a free 14-day trial through the App Store using your Apple Account. Full access begins when Apple confirms the free purchase. The trial includes dictionary lookup, page scanning, saved words and practice. The trial ends without renewal or an automatic charge. Continued access after the trial requires a separate, one-time lifetime in-app purchase at the price shown in your App Store. Restore purchases with the same Apple Account; restoring a trial keeps its original end date. There is no subscription.
