Yiban: Go & Baduk for Parents
Not claimedYour child enjoys Go
By The Cogitolab Technology Limited · EducationAbout
Your child enjoys Go. You want to join in, but you are unsure where to play next.
Yiban helps parents play a teaching game with their child on a physical Go board. Record the moves in the app, then use its suggestions when it is your turn. Go is also known as Baduk and Weiqi.
Choose how you want to play See the available moves and their intentions. Select a suggestion on the board, then confirm it after playing the real stone. Depending on the position, you may have a steady move, an attacking option, or a way to leave your child an opening. The number of choices varies; no choice guarantees a win for your child.
Understand a move when you need to Open Move insight for a plain-language explanation of the current position. Read it when useful, while leaving your child room to think.
Match your physical board Use a 9×9, 13×13 or 19×19 board, with your child playing Black or White. Tap an intersection or choose its column and row. Pinch to zoom, confirm captures, correct a record, or set up a game already in progress.
Check the position and finish carefully Request a position estimate when you want to know who is ahead. At the end, check the board and count the score. If the position is unresolved, Yiban asks you to keep working through it. An estimate during play is not a final result.
Pause and return Progress is saved automatically on your device, with records you can revisit. Illustrated lessons explain rules, shapes and common terms. Switch between English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean inside the app.
Core companion features work offline, with no account required. Stone sounds and haptics have separate settings. Moves are recorded manually, so keep the app in sync with the physical board.
