About

ZenCal counts calories from a photo — and then gets out of your way.

Photograph the plate. ZenCal reads it, estimates calories and macros, and closes out the day with you. No badges, no scoreboard, no red.

HOW YOU LOG • A photo of the plate • The barcode on the package • A photo of the nutrition label • A search by name • Or a spoken sentence

WHERE THE NUMBERS COME FROM Packaged food comes from Open Food Facts and the USDA database — table data, not a guess. A cooked plate goes through a vision model, and the estimate always shows up as an estimate, always editable.

WHAT YOU WILL NOT FIND • No red, in any state — not even on a day above your plan • No badges, achievements or leaderboards • No week strip counting the days you missed • No notification that scolds you

A day above plan is written in words, and the weekly average is what counts.

WHAT IS INSIDE • Calories, protein, carbs and fat, as rings • Weight history and trends • Exercise, described in your own words • Works with Apple Health, if you connect it: reads active energy, workouts and weigh-ins, and saves each meal's calories and nutrients, your exercise and your weight • 15 languages, with Arabic right to left • Sign in with Apple, Google or e-mail, so your plan follows you to a new phone

SUBSCRIPTION ZenCal requires a subscription to use, and there is no free tier. The yearly plan starts with a 3-day free trial; the monthly plan is charged right away, with no trial. Prices are shown in the app before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.

ZenCal is not a medical device and does not replace a health professional. The numbers for a cooked plate are estimates.
