About

Zman Tefilatenu gives you the day's halachic times for your city at a glance: when prayer begins, the latest time for the Shema, when to light the candles and when Shabbat ends. It is an app of the Torá para todos project.

THE TIMES OF EVERY DAY • Morning: Alot Hashachar (dawn), Misheyakir (tallit and tefillin), Netz (sunrise), latest Shema and latest Tefilah. • Afternoon: Chatzot (midday), Mincha Gedola, Mincha Ketana, Plag Hamincha, candle lighting and Shkia (sunset). • Night: twilight, end of Shabbat, Tzeit Hakochavim (nightfall) and midnight. You can see which time has passed and which is next, with a countdown.

HEBREW DATE AND CALENDAR The Hebrew date appears in English (or Spanish) and in Hebrew letters. A banner tells you when Shabbat, a holiday, a fast or Rosh Chodesh begins tonight. It tells Israel from the Diaspora, including the second day of holidays.

YOUR CITY Use your approximate location or pick a city in any country. Look at any other day with the week strip or the calendar.

OPTIONAL ALERTS Get a notification before Alot, the latest Shema, the latest Tefilah and candle lighting. You choose which ones and how many minutes ahead (0 to 60).

HOW IT IS CALCULATED Times are calculated on your device with the public NOAA solar algorithm. Hours are counted by the opinion of the Vilna Gaon (GRA): the day runs from Netz to Shkia. Alot is 72 minutes before Netz, Tzeit is when the sun is 8.5° below the horizon, and candles are lit 22 minutes before sunset.

PRIVATE AND SIMPLE No account, no ads and no purchases. Your location is not sent to any server of the app. Only crash reports are sent, not linked to your identity. Light and dark mode, in Spanish and English.

Always ask your rabbi for halachic rulings.
