Dayshut

Your phone won't let you sleep until you brush.

Dayshut ends late-night scrolling with a rule you can't wriggle out of. At a bedtime you choose, the apps that keep you up lock. The only way to shut the day is two minutes of real brushing, checked by your front camera, right on your phone.

Dayshut is free to download and requires a Dayshut Pro subscription to use: annual with a 3-day free trial, or monthly.

HOW IT WORKS • Pick the apps, categories and websites that keep you up. • At bedtime, Screen Time locks them. Calls, messages, maps and alarms always work. • Prop your phone on the counter and brush. The screen becomes a soft mirror light and guides you zone by zone. • Two minutes later the day is shut. Sleep well. • Skip it, and your apps stay locked in the morning until you brush.

BUILT TO STICK • Streaks, with freezes you earn for every seven nights in a row • Stats: nights shut, average shut time and time reclaimed • A weekly report every Sunday • Shut the day early, up to two hours before bedtime • Different bedtimes for different days • Widgets and a Control Center control

FOR REAL LIFE • Emergency unlocks when you genuinely need an app, twice a week by default • Pause for travel or a late night out, up to 14 nights • Works with manual and electric toothbrushes • Honor Mode, a guided timer, for anyone who can't use the camera

PRIVATE BY DESIGN Brush Check analyzes each frame on your phone as it arrives and throws it away. Nothing is recorded, saved or uploaded, ever. Screen Time gives Dayshut private tokens, not app names, so we can't see what you do in any app. An account is optional.

SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED Locking, Brush Check and every feature listed above require a Dayshut Pro subscription: annual with a 3-day free trial, or monthly. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings.
