DirectEdit is a focused TXT and Markdown file editor for iPhone and iPad. Create a new file, open an existing document from Files, edit your words and save your changes.

• Create and edit .txt, .md and .markdown files. • Save changes to the original file when the file provider supports editing in place. • Use Save As to choose a new filename and location. • Read a simple Markdown text preview. • Adjust text size and line spacing while you read and edit. • Undo and redo your edits, with keyboard shortcuts for common actions. • Preserve supported UTF-8 and UTF-16 encodings, byte order marks and line endings. • Keep a local recovery draft while you edit.

Open documents from locations available in the system Files browser. Cloud availability, offline access and synchronization depend on the selected file provider.

No account is required. DirectEdit includes no advertising, analytics or subscription. The interface follows your iOS or per-app language setting in English or Traditional Chinese.
