It suits people who want to free up space in their Photos library, with a batch option called Slim All. Originals are kept until the user chooses to replace them and confirms with iOS, and RAW, Live Photos and edited items are left untouched.

Find large photos and videos and make smaller copies on your iPhone or iPad.

PhotoSlim lists supported local media by size or date. Adjust the size filter, preview an item, and choose a compression preset. For a single item, open the original and compressed previews to compare, then keep both or choose to replace the original.

Select multiple items for batch replacement, or use Slim All to process supported media from oldest to newest. Slim All needs Full Access and extra working space. You can pause a run and return to it later.

Compression is lossy and savings vary. RAW, Live Photos, edited assets and other unsupported formats are left untouched. Copies retain capture date, location, favorites and writable regular-album membership; some Photos associations, such as People tags, do not transfer. Copies are newly added assets.

Nothing is deleted until you choose replacement and confirm with iOS. Deletion also affects your other devices through iCloud Photos. Review saved copies before permanently deleting any originals from Recently Deleted. Space may not be reclaimed while originals remain there.

No account, subscription, ads, analytics or developer server. Compression happens locally. Apple Photos may download previews from your iCloud library, and saved copies/deletions follow your iCloud settings.

Selected Photos access works in the Photos and Videos tabs. Slim All requires Full Access for recovery checks.
