Pregap is a Mac app for burning audio CDs that play through without gaps on CDJs, car stereos and home hi-fi. It accepts FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3 and AAC files, converting them to CD audio, and fills in CD-Text names from your tags. Its standout feature is preflight checking, which blocks a burn if a file cannot be decoded, so a half-written disc is avoided.

Burn discs that play right everywhere they go: the CDJs in the booth, the stereo in the car, the hi-fi at home. No gaps, no guesswork, no coasters.
Gapless, properly. Disc-at-once, with the gap between tracks under your control, down to zero. Mixes and live albums play straight through. No silence dropped between tracks.
Names on the display. CD-Text written during the burn, so CDJs, head units and hi-fi players that read it show the artist and track. Pregap fills it in from your tags, and any title renames in place.
Any file in. FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3 and AAC, converted to CD audio on the fly. Drop in files, folders or playlists. Your originals are never touched.
No coasters. Preflight checks the drive, the disc, the running time and the CD-Text before anything is written. A file that can't be decoded blocks the burn, so it never becomes a half-written disc.
Made for the Mac. Native Swift. Two windows burn to two drives at once. CD-RW discs erase and go again. The running order saves as a tracklist.
Nothing leaves your Mac. No network access, no accounts, no analytics.
You'll need a CD burner (built in, or any USB optical drive macOS recognises) and blank CD-R or CD-RW discs.
