Verso PDF Editor & Reader

Verso is the fast, private PDF editor and reader for Mac. Read, edit, sign, fill, merge, split, compress and convert PDF documents. All on your Mac, with no account, no uploads and no tracking.

Open any PDF and get straight to work. Read it comfortably, mark it up, fill in a form, sign a contract, correct a typo, remove sensitive information for good, combine files, make a scanned document searchable, or convert a PDF to DOCX, XLSX or PPTX.

Verso PDF as a reader: READ, ORGANIZE AND SAVE • A fast PDF reader and viewer, with continuous, single-page, two-page, book and horizontal layouts • Search, select and copy text; follow links; browse bookmarks • Reading View with paper, sepia, night and high-contrast themes, plus Read Aloud and a reading ruler • Reorder pages by dragging thumbnails, and delete pages • Open password-protected PDFs, print, share, Save and Save As • Tabs for every open document, and your recent files on the start screen

Verso PDF as an Editor: EVERY EDITING TOOL Edit and annotate • Highlight, underline and strike through text; add notes, text boxes, shapes and freehand drawings • Edit existing text in place — a single line or a whole paragraph — or change a document's font • Insert images, stamps, watermarks, headers, footers, page numbers and Bates numbering

Sign and fill forms • Draw, type or import your signature and place it anywhere on the page • Fill in PDF forms, with your answers remembered on your Mac if you choose • Build fillable forms with text fields, check boxes, radio buttons, dropdowns, lists, buttons and signature fields

Organize, merge and split • Merge PDFs, split by page ranges, every few pages or at bookmarks, and add pages from another PDF • Crop and rotate pages, flatten annotations, and edit bookmarks or generate them from headings • Compress PDFs and see the real file size before you save

Convert and OCR • Make scanned PDFs searchable with OCR text recognition • Convert PDF to DOCX, XLSX or PPTX, or export page images (PNG), plain text and rich text (RTF)

Protect and review • Redact sensitive text so it is removed from the file, not just covered up • Sanitize metadata and comments before you share • Protect PDFs with a password • Compare two versions of a document, check accessibility and measure distances • Ask the Document Assistant for a summary or answers about your PDF • Save snapshots to return to earlier versions, and run batch recipes on many files at once

PRIVATE BY DESIGN Verso runs entirely on your Mac. Your documents are never uploaded, there is no account to create, there are no analytics, and Verso collects no data. Text recognition, conversion, redaction and the Document Assistant all work on device.

MADE FOR THE MAC Native and fast, with dark mode, your choice of accent color, keyboard shortcuts, tabs, full undo, drag and drop, and the option to make Verso your default PDF app.
