Info

Hayya is a calm, simple prayer app. It shows the five daily prayers, sounds the adhan, points to the Qibla, and helps you learn the surahs you recite in namaz.

It was first made for one person: a mother who travels between Bangladesh, Japan and the United States. It is made for our mothers and fathers, and for anyone who wants a prayer app that is quiet, clear and respectful.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No ads, no account, no sign-up. • No tracking, no analytics, no third-party SDKs. • Your location is used only on your iPhone, to calculate prayer times and the Qibla. It is never sent anywhere. • Your learning progress stays on your iPhone.

BENGALI FIRST • Bengali (বাংলা), English and Japanese. In Bengali, numbers are shown in Bengali digits. • Choose the app's language inside the app, whatever language your iPhone uses. • Large text, with a text-size setting of its own. Works with VoiceOver, and can read the next prayer aloud.

PRAYER TIMES AND THE ADHAN • Today's five prayers and sunrise, the next prayer, and how long until it. • Calculated the way most people do in the country you are in: Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (Karachi method, Hanafi Asr) in Bangladesh, ISNA in the United States, Muslim World League in Japan. You can change the method in Settings. • On iOS 26 and later, the adhan can ring as an alarm, even when the phone is on silent or in a Focus. Tap "Play full Adhan" to hear the whole adhan. • On earlier versions of iOS, each prayer arrives as a time-sensitive notification with the adhan. • Widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen: the next prayer with a countdown, or all of today's prayers. • Optional reminders a few minutes before each prayer, and before Jumu'ah on Fridays.

QIBLA • A clear arrow to the Kaaba. When you face the Qibla, it turns green and the phone gives a gentle buzz. • Find a mosque nearby: one tap opens Apple Maps.

RAMADAN • Sehri and Iftar times on the home screen, with an optional Sehri wake-up alarm.

LEARN THE SURAHS OF NAMAZ • 13 lessons: Al-Fatiha, eleven short surahs and Ayat al-Kursi. • Verse by verse: the pronunciation (in Bengali letters, English letters or Japanese katakana), the Arabic, the meaning and a short note. • The slow teaching recitation of Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil al-Husary: listen, say it along, then say it on your own. • Each surah you learn opens a flower in your garden, and short reviews help you keep what you learned. • When you finish a surah, you can send a card to your family through the iPhone share sheet.

LEARN TO READ ARABIC • Qaida-style lessons, from the letters to reading your own surahs, in the Indo-Pak script used in Bangladeshi Qurans. • Letters named the way they are taught in Bangladesh, simple tap-only games, and a wall of tiles for the letters you have learned.

WORKS WHEREVER YOU TRAVEL • Everything works without internet: prayer times, the Qibla, the adhan, and the lessons with their recitation. • After a flight, open Hayya once. It notices the new country and time zone and updates the times and the adhan.

Prayer times are calculated. For exact times, follow your local mosque.

Hayya is free, with no in-app purchases.
