Kurz gesagt

PairPause: Focus Together is a productivity app for iPhone and iPad that blocks chosen apps, categories and websites during focus sessions. A paired partner's device acts as a key, granting temporary access after both people approve the request in person. It is aimed at couples or partners who want less screen time together and includes a daily usage limit and optional Apple Watch support. One notable detail is that unlocking requires both devices to be open and connected locally.

Info

You meant to put your screen down ten minutes ago. You're still scrolling.

Sound familiar? For you, or for your partner? You want more time together, but a phone or iPad keeps getting in the way. Before you know it, another evening has slipped away.

PairPause helps you do something about it, together.

ASK FOR SUPPORT. OR BE THE SUPPORT. Agree on when you want fewer distractions. Choose the apps and websites that keep pulling you back, then start focus. Pair the other person's iPhone or iPad as your key device. Support can go both ways: each of you can set your own focus and be the other's key.

A MOMENT TO THINK BEFORE YOU SCROLL AGAIN Want access again? Let the other person help. Get up, find each other and ask to have your apps unlocked. They enter your temporary code or scan your QR code on the paired key device and approve your request.

That extra step gives you a moment to ask: do I really want to get back on my screen right now? Less screen time becomes a shared commitment, with someone there to support you.

MORE TIME FOR WHAT MATTERS TO YOU An uninterrupted conversation. Dinner with your attention on each other. A book, a walk or a quiet moment. PairPause helps you make space for the things that disappear between one scroll and the next.

• Block selected apps, categories and websites on iPhone and iPad. • Let a trusted key device grant 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes of access, or end manual focus. • Set a daily usage limit. • Pair multiple trusted devices. • Start focus from a widget; use the optional Apple Watch companion through its paired iPhone. • Choose English, Dutch, French, German or Spanish, with light and dark appearance.

Paired unlocking requires two iPhones/iPads with PairPause. Both apps must be open and locally connected during the request and approval. Compatible iPhones can also measure proximity. A code or QR code alone does not verify physical proximity. Apple Watch works through its paired iPhone. No dedicated key hardware to buy.

PairPause is voluntary self-control for adults, using Apple's Screen Time authorization. System permission remains revocable. No account, advertising or analytics SDK; app selection and usage monitoring stay on your device.

Less mindless scrolling. More attention for each other. Start together with PairPause.

Requires iOS/iPadOS 17 or later; the optional Watch app requires watchOS 10 or later.
