FAST PAGE TURNING • Tap the left or right edge to turn the page instantly, with no animation • Hold an edge to keep flipping, at one of four speeds • Flick, drag the slider, or type a page number to jump straight there • Pinch in for an overview of all pages, with adjustable thumbnail size

HOME VIEW Save the area you want to read, per book, and keep that zoom as you turn pages. Scanned books with wide margins and two-column documents become easy to read. Tap a corner to move through a page one view at a time.

VERTICAL, HORIZONTAL AND TWO-PAGE SPREADS • Read right to left (Japanese vertical text), left to right, or top to bottom • Two-page spreads, with the cover shown alone, set automatically from the PDF • Choose the background color around the pages

LIBRARY • Organize books in a library and on shelves by tag • Use any page or an image as a book’s cover • See the bookmarks of all your books in one list • Add shelf tags by content with Apple Intelligence on your device, including classes of the Nippon Decimal Classification

SEARCH AND TEXT SELECTION • Search the text of a book or of your whole library • Select text to copy, share or look up, including vertical Japanese text and text with ruby

TRANSLATION PANEL See a translation of each paragraph beside the page. Tap a paragraph to link the original and the translation. Paragraphs split across pages are joined, running heads and page numbers are hidden automatically, and you can copy the translation of a whole chapter.

For translation and summaries, choose: • Apple Translate (on device) • Apple Intelligence (on device, supported devices only) • An online translation or AI service, with your own API key

PRIVACY • No account needed. No analytics, no ads • Your books and settings stay on your device • Text is sent to an external AI service only when you have entered your own API key, confirmed where it goes and agreed, and then run a translation or summary • Text selection and AI features are off for PDFs that forbid copying

IMPORT AND EXPORT Import PDFs from the Files app, from other apps with Share, or by drag and drop. Password-protected PDFs are supported. Share a PDF or an image of a page, or print.
