Pitch Studio: Soccer Tactics

An easy-to-use soccer tactics board. The side lined up in one go, players registered in a minute. Free to start.

Pick a formation from the list and press "Apply" — that is all it takes. Tap the players on the board and type their names, and the starting eleven goes in in about a minute. Players and formations you register once stay in the app, so from the next tactic on you just pick.

■ Register once, then just pick • Player roster: build the roster once, then just call it up. No retyping names, no retyping numbers. You can also paste a list to register several players at once. • Player groups: keep a separate roster for each age group or squad and switch between them. Moving from the first team to the juniors never mixes them up. • Saved formations: shirt numbers, roles and the shape are saved. One tap on "Apply" brings your usual line-up back exactly as it was. • Custom formations: a shape that is not in the list can be added too. Move the players on the board and press "Add current positions"; from then on you pick it from the formation list. • Attacking and defending shapes (Pro only): keep one shape with its roles for attacking and another for defending, and swap between them instantly with a single icon.

These are account-wide settings, not settings inside one tactic. The preparation you do once becomes the speed you get every time after.

■ Free to start The free version is not a trial. There is no time limit: 3 tactics with 5 scenes each, 1 player group, 1 custom formation and 1 saved formation line-up stay free for as long as you like. A banner ad is shown.

■ Show the movement, and plan training sessions too • Animation: chain scenes together and play them back, so the movement is shown as movement. Export it as a video or GIF to share. • Training sessions: place 12 kinds of equipment, including cones, poles, mannequins and mini goals. A session can be chained into scenes and played back too. • Drawing: arrows, lines, rectangles, ellipses, text and freehand. Lines can be straight, wavy or curved, and solid, dashed or dotted; ends can carry an arrow, a cross or a T-bar. • Shirt numbers and roles: choose per team whether the shirt shows the number or a role such as CF or CMF. Roles you have used before can be picked from the suggestions. • Line of sight: show not only where a player is standing but where they are looking. Move the ball and the players turn to follow it automatically. • Substitutions and the bench: handle changes and bench places directly on the board. • 11-a-side, plus 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 and 3-a-side and shapes without a goalkeeper; full pitch or half pitch. • My tactics can be sorted into folders. • Export: a PNG image, a video, a GIF, and a tactics file you can open and edit again later.

■ Change device, and the preparation comes with you Sign in and the same tactics open on every phone, tablet and computer on that account. There is a browser version as well, and signing in there opens the same tactics with the same Pro access. Roster, player groups and saved formations belong to the account too, so adding a device never means entering them again. Without signing in, your data is saved on this device.
