Never lose your place again.
Read Tracker listens as you read aloud and lights up every word the moment you say it, like a finger gliding under the line. Built for readers with dyslexia, people learning a language, and anyone who wants to read aloud with more confidence.
FOLLOWS YOUR VOICE, WORD BY WORD Tap the microphone and read at your own pace. The word you are on lights up and grows, the words you have read fade to gray, and a dotted line marks any word you skipped. Lost your place? Just look for the light.
INSTANT HELP WITH HARD WORDS • Tap any word to hear it said clearly • Pause on a word and a "Hear it" button appears right above it, or let the app say the word for you • Press and hold any word to carry on reading from there
DYSLEXIA-FRIENDLY FROM THE GROUND UP • A dyslexia-friendly mode with calmer, more spacious text • Easy-to-read fonts: OpenDyslexic, Lexend and Atkinson Hyperlegible • Adjustable letter and line spacing • Line focus that dims everything except the line you are reading • Soft page colors: paper, blue, green, peach, gray or white • A light, dark or automatic look • Bigger text with the A buttons or a simple pinch, plus a word zoom that makes the current word stand out
LISTEN FIRST, THEN READ • "Read it to me" reads the text aloud and highlights each word as it goes, at the speed you choose • "Read and repeat" reads one sentence, then listens while you say it back, sentence after sentence. Great for pronunciation and reading fluency
LEARNING A LANGUAGE? Tap a word in a foreign text to see its translation, plus the translation of the whole sentence. It uses Apple's translation, right on your device (iOS 18 and later).
READ ANYTHING • E-books (EPUB), PDF, Word documents and text files • Scan pages from a printed book with your camera and read straight from them • Paste text, or open a document in Read Tracker from Files or any app • Long books open smoothly, and every document reopens exactly where you stopped
SEE YOUR PROGRESS After each reading, your report shows how long you read, your words per minute compared with last time, your trend over recent sessions, and the words worth practicing. Tap any of them to hear it again.
IPHONE, IPAD AND MAC One purchase for all three. Read on your iPhone wherever you are, on a bigger page on iPad, or at your desk on a Mac with Apple silicon, right next to the documents you work on. Scanning pages works on iPhone and iPad.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No ads. No tracking. Read Tracker uses Apple's own speech recognition, in more than 30 languages. When your device can recognize the language itself, what you say never leaves it and it works without internet; otherwise Apple's servers recognize it. The app never records or stores your voice, and it recognizes the language of your text by itself.
THOUGHTFUL TOUCHES • The screen stays on while you read • A short guided tour and built-in help • The app itself is available in English, German, French, Spanish and Hebrew
