SoundPon: Piano Practice

New to sheet music? Practice piano one note at a time, at your own pace.

Read the score, listen to the notes, and try them on the screen keyboard or a compatible USB MIDI instrument. SoundPon is for people who want to take their time with sheet music, whether they are starting out or returning to the piano.

PLAY AND CHECK THE NOTES Matching notes on the screen keyboard move the score forward. Pause to find your next note. If you press a different key, you can hear it and try again.

PRACTISE ON YOUR OWN PIANO Connect a compatible USB MIDI instrument to move the score forward with your notes in manual mode. The on-screen keys show what you press, even while playing along with Auto. Auto does not assess your input.

Requires an iOS/iPadOS-compatible USB MIDI instrument and a data cable. A suitable adapter or external power may be required separately. Not all devices and connection setups have been tested. Before purchasing, check your instrument manufacturer's iPhone/iPad connection requirements. Bluetooth MIDI pairing is not provided. You can also practise on-screen without external hardware.

CHOOSE YOUR HINTS Turn note names, chord labels, and key colors on or off separately. Red keys show the current notes; blue keys show the next ones. Tap a chord to hear it and see its notes on the keyboard. Try switching hints off when you feel ready.

START AT ANY BAR Choose a starting bar from the full score, or use the seek bar while practicing. Work on one hand or both, looping 1, 2, 4 or 8 bars. Move to the previous or next practice range. Touch and hold a bar to see how many manual passes you have completed.

LISTEN AT YOUR OWN TEMPO Auto plays the score, with a BPM slider to adjust its speed. Hide the screen keyboard for a larger score while playing along at your own piano.
