SteelWeight: Steel Profiles

SteelWeight is a simple steel profile weight calculator for mill sections. Pick a square tube, equal-leg angle or channel, enter dimensions and length, and get the weight for your quote. It also shows norm parameters such as the fillet radius, so it works like the paper slide rule you already know, always in your pocket.

How it works: - Pick a section: square tube hollow, angle equal-leg, channel rolled - Enter dimensions with fields and sliders: side or height, wall thickness, length - Read the result: mass per meter in kg per m and total mass in kg - Open the norm sheet: standard, fillet radius R, area, kg per m - Save to history and jump back to any recent calculation for the next quote

Notes: - Covers common workshop stock: side 20 to 100 mm, wall 2 to 12 mm, length 1 to 12 m - Channel uses a simplified 2-param model fitted to UPN masses in the 50 to 100 mm range, accurate within about 10 percent - The app is free. Guest mode gives full access to the calculator. You can secure a guest account with email and password later from the profile.
