VISCERA Granular Synth

VISCERA turns your voice into a brutal instrument.

Record a scream, a growl or a whisper, or import any sound, and play it with your fingers. VISCERA cuts the sound into grains wherever you touch. Move left and right to tear through the recording, or hold a finger still to grind on one moment, and turn it into drones, roars and shredded noise.

Play in tune with your own voice. VISCERA finds the note in your recording and builds a scale on it: each finger plays a note of the slot's scale, and SPRAY scatters grains onto the notes around it. Choose from 35 scales, from the major and minor modes to blues, maqam, gamelan, just intonation, quarter tones, 19 and 31 equal steps and Bohlen-Pierce. Or set the root yourself.

Four sounds, four instruments. Load up to four sounds. Every slot has its own trim, gain, tuning, scale and effects, and one touch plays all of them at once, each in its own way.

Multi-Touch and tilt. Use as many fingers as you like. Moving up and down on the pad and tilting the device drive the controls you choose for each slot, from these 12:

Hold, loop and play over it. Turn on hold to keep a chord sounding after you let go, and pause it to bring it back exactly where it was. Tap LOOP to record up to a minute of what you play, tilt and all, then play over it. Open a standard MIDI file and VISCERA plays it with your own sounds.

Play it from a keyboard. Connect a USB or Bluetooth MIDI keyboard, play over Wi-Fi, or play VISCERA from another app. Velocity, pitch bend, sustain and MPE are supported, and the mod wheel, aftertouch and breath control move the same controls as your fingers and the tilt.

Use it in your music app. VISCERA is also an Audio Unit (AUv3) instrument for GarageBand, Logic Pro for iPad, AUM, Cubasis and Loopy Pro, with MPE and automatable parameters. On a Mac with Apple silicon, the same purchase works in Logic Pro, GarageBand, MainStage, Ableton Live 11.3 or later and REAPER. Configs you save in the app open in the plugin, and your project remembers VISCERA's sounds and settings.

Record everything you hear to a 24-bit, 48 kHz WAV and share it. Save up to 12 configs, each with all four sounds, their settings and your loop.

Runs on a 48 kHz audio engine, with a limiter that keeps the level in check however many fingers you add.
