False Friends is an education app that drills French, Spanish and Italian words that look like English words but mean something else, such as "librairie" meaning bookshop. It offers 250 pairs per language, multiple-choice quizzes that explain why each lookalike is wrong, and four tiers that unlock as common traps are cleared. What stands out is that all progress stays on the device or in the user's own iCloud account, with no accounts, ads or analytics.
