Istiqama: Tasbeeh & Quran

Your dhikr can reach someone else. Name a parent, a grandparent or a teacher who has passed, recite for their isal-e-sawab, and keep a record of everything recited for them.

FOR SOMEONE YOU LOVE Add the people you pray for, living or passed, and recite for them. Each person has their own record, so you can always see what has been recited and for whom. You recite, and ask Allah to convey the reward. Invite your family into a record, and everyone's recitation adds to one total, with each person's figure beside it. Joining is always free. Start a khatam in someone's name, of the Quran or of a dhikr, and share it out among your family, the way a Quran khani is shared. A reminder on their anniversary each year, by the Hijri or the Gregorian calendar. Isal-e-sawab is also written esale sawab, and in Urdu ایصال ثواب.

COUNTING TOGETHER Start a khatam and invite your family with a link or a code. Everyone counts on their own phone and the total is the one thing you share. You can add your salawat to a weekly total shared by everyone who joins, anywhere in the world.

COUNTING Tap anywhere to count, with a gentle vibration on each tap. Set a target per cycle. Undo a miscount. Choose wood, onyx or amber beads.

YOUR RECORD Daily goals for each dhikr, and lifetime goals for the long ones. Streaks. A month of counting on a calendar, a year on a heatmap, and a thirty day chart. Milestones as you reach them.

THE QURAN The printed Madani mushaf, page for page. Twenty-two reciters, and the page follows the voice, ayah by ayah, turning itself when the reading crosses a page. Fifty-six translations in thirty languages; tap an ayah to read it underneath. The whole mushaf, about 68 MB, downloads once while you set the app up, and then opens with no connection.

PRAYER Prayer times for your city, with a notification at each one, silent or with the takbir. A qibla compass that shows the direction over your camera view.

TO READ The daily azkar, morning and evening, each with its source. A durood library. The ninety-nine names, each with its meaning.

YOUR DATA Your counting is saved to your account automatically, so it comes back if you lose your phone. You can turn that off in Settings. What is saved, and what is not, is set out in the privacy policy inside the app.

An account is needed to set the app up. After that, counting works without a connection.

Istiqama is free to use, and the free version is the whole app, including reciting for one person and joining anybody's record or khatam. The free reciter is as-Sudais, and the free translations are Saheeh International in English and Jalandhari in Urdu. Istiqama Pro is for reciting for everyone you pray for, each with their own record. It also adds khatams of your own without a limit, all twenty-two reciters and every translation, the home screen widgets, and removes the ads.
