MidRate: Currency Converter

MidRate converts at the mid-market rate, the midpoint between what banks buy and sell a currency for. It adds no margin, so you see the real rate and can tell how much a bank, card or exchange counter adds on top.

EVERY RATE SAYS HOW OLD IT IS A stamp above the converter shows when the rates were published, and every widget carries the same stamp. Rates update daily for every currency. With Premium, a US dollar base updates every hour; every other base stays daily and says so. If the app goes 48 hours without fresh rates, the stamp turns amber and names the day the numbers are from. They stay on screen, but never pass for current.

FREE, ALWAYS • 166 currencies, with any one of them as your base • 3 currencies on screen at once • The small Rates widget • Daily reference prices for gold, silver, platinum and palladium • No ads and no account

PREMIUM • The Board: saved conversions as live tiles, as many as you like • Charts for any rate, from one week to ten years • Crypto prices for 50 coins and stablecoins, in the same list as your currencies • The full converter: unlimited rows, and arithmetic as you type • Own rates: your own rate for a pair, as a margin over mid-market or a fixed number • Every widget in every size: Rates, Converter, Chart, Gold, and a currency pair on the Lock Screen. The Converter widget has a swap button • Hourly rates on a US dollar base • Live prices for gold, silver, platinum and palladium through the day, and gold rates for Dubai, India, Kerala, Kuwait and Pakistan • Three extra themes and three alternate app icons
