Basset is a language-learning app built around reading real books at levels A1 to B1. Tapping any word gives a meaning chosen from the full sentence, and saved words become flashcards practised in both directions. It stands out for its context-aware lookup, which reads the whole sentence to pick the right meaning and explains grammar in your own language.

Learn a language the way you learned your first one: from context. Read a real book at your level, and Basset helps with every word you don't know.

The first book is Around the World in Eighty Days, in English and in Spanish, with more on the way.

READ AT YOUR LEVEL Each book comes in easier versions for levels A1, A2 and B1. Switch level whenever you like and keep your place in the book.

TAP ANY WORD Basset reads the whole sentence, so it knows that "went" comes from "go" and that "gave up" is one phrase, not two words. Pick the meaning that fits and hear the word read aloud, as slowly as you need.

KEEP THE WORDS YOU WANT Save a word together with its sentence. Your words become flashcards that you practise in both directions, and the ones you know least come up most often.

UNDERSTAND THE GRAMMAR Basset spots the grammar in what you read and explains it in your own language, starting with what matters at your level.

SEE YOUR PROGRESS A daily goal, a reading streak, levels and badges show how far you have come.

YOUR BOOKS ON EVERY DEVICE Your shelf, your words and your place in each book are saved to your account, so they are there on any phone you sign in on.
