À propos

Follow a food into your body. Pick spinach, tap iron, and see the established job iron does, where in the body it does it, and what the evidence actually says.

Body Unpacked is an interactive health-education app built around one idea: foods contain nutrients, nutrients have established roles, and those roles happen in real places in your body. Every step is sourced and every number shows where it comes from.

BODY CONNECTIONS EXPLORER Choose one of 44 everyday foods and watch a living graph draw itself: food, then the nutrients it contains, then each nutrient's established physiological roles, then the body places where they happen. Values come from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy) and each %DV shows its amount basis and the FDA reference it uses. Missing data is shown as missing, never as zero. Prefer reading? Switch to the full text view, which carries the same information for VoiceOver.

NUTRIENT JOURNEYS Follow each of 14 nutrients after you swallow it, on an animated body map: where it's absorbed, what carries it, where it's stored, where it works and how it leaves. Vitamin B12 needs a protein from the stomach and is absorbed at the very end of the small intestine. About 99% of calcium sits in bone. The body has no exit for spare iron, so the gut decides how much comes in. Each journey cites its source and ends with a quick check.

COMPARE WHAT FOODS CONTAIN Put two foods side by side across 14 nutrients, per 100 g or per a checked household portion. No scores, no "healthier" rankings: just what each one contains.

PHYSIOLOGY LAB Three step-through teaching models: digestion from mouth to colon, breathing and circulation (including how oxygen and carbon dioxide are actually carried), and the knee-jerk reflex arc. Pause, restart, follow the labels and check your understanding with short checkpoints.

EVIDENCE LENS Six popular health questions, such as "Does vitamin C prevent colds?" and "Do you need 8 glasses of water a day?", broken into 23 separate statements. Each statement is labelled by the kind of evidence behind it (an established physiological role, substantial human evidence, limited or mixed evidence, preliminary findings, or insufficient evidence) with its study type and named source.

ASSEMBLE THE BODY One organ at a time: touch the body, watch the nearest spot light up, and lift to place it where it really sits. Learn a fact and a nutrient link for each, and use hints when you're stuck.

A CONNECTED ATLAS 249 sourced topics, including all 13 vitamins, the essential minerals, the macronutrients, organs and body systems, food additives and evidence-literacy basics. Switch any topic between Simple, Standard and Deep dive. Photograph an ingredient list and the app reads it on your device.

YOUR LEARNING WORKSPACE Save food-to-body paths, comparisons, lab modules and claims, and write your own notes. An optional food and body journal is also available. Everything stays on your device and can be deleted at any time.

PRIVATE AND OFFLINE No account, no ads, no analytics, no cloud AI. All learning content is bundled and works without a connection, and every claim names its source.

EDUCATION ONLY Body Unpacked provides general educational information. It does not diagnose, treat or replace advice from a qualified professional, and it gives no individual supplement or medication advice. Content is checked by the developer against the cited public sources and has not been independently reviewed by a clinician. Illustrations are simplified artwork made with AI-assisted tools.
