DeckSweep

DeckSweep finds the files on your Mac you don't need any more and turns them into a deck you can swipe through on your iPhone.

A small helper app on the Mac scans Desktop, Downloads, Pictures, Documents and Movies (you choose the folders) for the usual suspects: screenshots you took months ago, exact duplicates, near-duplicate photo bursts, big downloads you never opened, installers you already ran. It ranks them by how much space they'd give back and how sure it is.

On the phone: swipe right to keep, left to trash, down to decide later. Tap for a full-size preview. Duplicate groups show every copy side by side — the one that stays is marked, and you can pick a different one. Nothing happens until you tap Commit and see the list.

Then the files move to the Trash on your Mac. Not deleted — the Trash. Every move is logged, and Undo works even after committing.

SAFE BY DESIGN • Only the folders you chose. Never the system, never other apps' data, never anything you didn't point it at. • Trash, not delete. Emptying the Trash is a separate step you confirm on the Mac. • Nothing leaves your Mac. The phone and the Mac talk directly over your Wi-Fi, encrypted, paired with a QR code. No account, no cloud, no analytics. • Files that changed since the scan are left alone.

WORKS WITH The free DeckSweep agent for macOS (menu-bar app, macOS 14 or later), from decksweep.securlabs.net. Try the app without a Mac first: "Try without a Mac" runs the whole flow on sample data and deletes nothing.
