En bref

File Stacker is a Mac utility that turns folders you choose into an interactive storage map, with Treemap, Sunburst, Table and Overview views. It offers a free tier with scanning, search, cautious cleanup that moves one item to the Trash at a time, and a one-time Pro purchase for bulk cleanup, duplicate handling and uninstalling apps. It only reads folders you grant and keeps everything on your Mac.

À propos

Understand what is taking up space on your Mac. File Stacker turns the folders you choose into an interactive map of your storage, then helps you clean up safely.

FREE • Scan any folder or disk you grant, as often as you like, and explore it as a Treemap, Sunburst, Table or Overview • Search, focus on a category, and filter by size or date; Large & Old Files gathers the biggest and longest-unopened files in one place • See details for any item, Quick Look it, reveal it in Finder, and see what changed since the last scan • Move one file or folder to the Trash per action, as often as you like, and put it back from Recent Removals • Cleanup: scan caches, logs and other known space users, each explained and labelled by risk, and remove them one item at a time • Duplicates preview: the real comparison, the number of duplicate sets, a cautious estimate of the space involved, and up to three complete sets • Remove the local copy of iCloud Drive files that have finished uploading • Free disk space in the menu bar (macOS 13 or later)

FILE STACKER PRO (ONE-TIME IN-APP PURCHASE) • Bulk cleanup: tick several Cleanup results, or gather items from anywhere in the Collector, and move them to the Trash with one confirmation • Duplicates: every set, and guided cleanup that keeps the copy you choose and re-checks every copy before anything moves • Uninstall Apps, with the app's leftovers and leftovers from apps that are no longer installed • History & Trends: compare any two saved scans and see what grew • Scheduled rescans, growth notifications and low-space alerts • CSV and JSON export, and System Doctor: a live checkup of CPU, memory, network, battery and disk Pro is a single purchase with no subscription and works on every Mac signed in to your Apple ID.

REVIEW BEFORE REMOVING Items go to the Trash only after you confirm. Protect folders from removal or exclude them from scans. File Stacker never empties the Trash or permanently deletes files.

WORK WITH THE ACCESS YOU CHOOSE File Stacker is sandboxed and reads only the folders you grant through the macOS folder picker. It has no network access, accounts, ads or third-party analytics. Everything stays on your Mac.

KNOW WHAT THE NUMBERS MEAN Files in the Trash keep using disk space until you empty it in Finder. Duplicate savings are upper bounds: APFS clones, hard links and compression affect the space actually recovered. Locations macOS won't let the app read are flagged, not counted as empty.

Requires macOS 12 or later; the menu bar item, launch at login and the History chart need macOS 13. Built for Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
