HornToad

HornToad teaches boaters the horn and whistle signals used on the water.

DECODE A HORN Heard blasts and not sure what they mean? Tap the horn the way you heard it: tap for a short blast, hold for a prolonged one. HornToad matches your rhythm against the standard signals and shows every meaning it could have, ranked by how well it fits.

SOUND A HORN Need to signal another boat? Browse signals by situation, such as passing, overtaking, backing up, approaching a bend, or fog. Tap a signal to see the blasts to sound, hear them played back with the correct timing, and read who sounds it and how others should respond.

INLAND AND INTERNATIONAL RULES The same signal can mean different things under the Inland and International rules. HornToad lets you choose which set applies, so you always see the right meaning.

WHAT'S INCLUDED - Meeting and crossing signals - Overtaking signals - Astern, doubt and danger signals - Bend and leaving-dock signals - Fog and restricted-visibility signals - Rule citations for every signal - Works fully offline, with no accounts, ads or tracking

FOR EDUCATION ONLY HornToad is a learning tool. It is not a navigation aid and does not replace the official Navigation Rules, a boating safety course, or good seamanship. Always follow the official rules for the waters where you are boating.
