Lucernula - PDF Reader

Lucernula is a reader for the PDFs you actually read — books, papers, manuals, scores — on iPhone and iPad. It keeps them on a shelf, remembers where you were, and gets out of the way so the page is all you see.

YOUR LIBRARY • Every PDF on one shelf, with its cover, its author and how far you have read. • Pick up where you left off: the book you are reading waits at the top, one tap from your page. • Search by title or author, and filter by what you are reading or have finished. • Add PDFs from the Files app, by dragging them in, by opening them in Lucernula from Mail, Safari or another app, or from a link. • Your library is a folder in the Files app, so the PDFs stay yours to move, back up or share.

A READER THAT FITS THE PAGE TO YOU • One page at a time, turned with a swipe, with a slider to travel the whole book. • Text size that zooms the page to fit the width of your screen, in five steps. • Light, Grey or Dark paper. Dark turns the page itself dark — text, margins and pictures — for reading at night, and follows your device's dark mode until you choose. • Your place is saved on every page turn.

FIND YOUR WAY AROUND • Contents: the book's own chapters, with the one you are in marked. • Bookmarks: mark a page with one tap, and find it again later. • Pages: every page as a thumbnail, to jump straight to the one you want. • On iPad the contents sit in a column beside the page, so you can browse while you read.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no tracking and no ads. Your PDFs and your reading never leave your device; the only time Lucernula goes online is to download a PDF from a link you give it.

Lucernula runs on iPhone and iPad, and on Apple silicon Macs and Apple Vision Pro as an iPad app.
