À propos

Learn the medical English you actually use on the ward, and stop forgetting it.

Medical English is a flashcard app for doctors, nurses, and medical and nursing students. Build the clinical vocabulary you need for OET, NCLEX, USMLE, PLAB or IELTS, or for working in the UK, the US, Canada or Australia.

WHY IT WORKS You don't need every medical term in English. You need the words you hear on the ward every day. The app focuses on the most used medical vocabulary and teaches it with spaced repetition: each term comes back right before you would forget it. Ten minutes a day is enough.

HOW YOU LEARN • 2,400+ medical terms, each with a picture and audio pronunciation • English definition and translation into your language • Three example sentences per term from real clinical situations • A smart algorithm that adapts to what you already know • Short sessions that fit between shifts; terms you miss come back in the same session • Daily streak and reminders to keep the habit

WHAT YOU LEARN 77 topics grouped by meaning, not by alphabet: • Core clinical vocabulary for doctors and nurses • Symptoms, history taking and talking to patients • Diagnosis, treatment and procedures • Anatomy, body systems and basic pharmacology • Ward, operating room, emergency and ICU vocabulary • Everyday English in the healthcare team

WHO IT IS FOR • Nurses preparing for NCLEX, OET or IELTS to work abroad • Doctors preparing for USMLE, PLAB or OET • Medical, nursing, midwifery and pharmacy students • Pharmacists, dentists, paramedics and caregivers • Anyone who knows medicine but freezes when they have to say it in English

IN YOUR LANGUAGE The app and translations of terms are available in 14 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Italian, Turkish, Polish, Hindi, Korean, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Arabic.

FREE AND PREMIUM You can learn 5 new words a day for free. Premium removes the daily limit, so you can learn as much as you want.

Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase.
