RightKit: Context Menu Toolkit

RightKit adds New File, Cut and Paste, Copy To, Move To, Open in App and a full toolbox to the Finder context menu. Right-click where you are, and it's done.

New File • 12 built-in types, including plain text, Markdown, RTF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Add any file as your own template • Name conflicts are numbered automatically. Nothing is ever overwritten.

Cut, Copy To, Move To • Cut with a right-click, then paste in another folder to move • Pick your go-to folders as Send To targets and copy or move there in one step • Open favorite folders straight from the context menu • Long operations show progress and can be canceled

Open in App • Terminals open the folder, editors open the item itself • Detects Terminal, Ghostty, Visual Studio Code and Xcode, and you can add other apps

Built to be safe • Delete Permanently asks first. System folders and your home folder are protected. • All file operations happen on your Mac. No data is collected. • Runs in the App Sandbox and only accesses folders you authorize • The context menu appears only in folders you authorize

When you first open RightKit, authorize a folder (your home folder is recommended), then turn on the RightKit Finder extension in System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions. RightKit's Settings window shows the extension's status and takes you there.
