En bref

Writeline: One-Line Life Log is a journal where each entry is a single line, such as a meal, a run, or a visit, logged in about ten seconds. It sorts lines into labeled, color-coded categories and includes a habit tracker for daily checkmarks. Its stored data stays on the phone, with no account required.

À propos

Most journals ask for a page. Writeline asks for one line.

Type what happened, like "ramen with Justin at Ippudo" or "ran 6k around the lake", and tap send. That's the whole entry. It takes about ten seconds, and a one-line day looks just as complete as a long one. Keep it up and in a few months you'll have what no abandoned diary ever gave you: a record of your actual life.

ONE LINE, FILED FOR YOU • Writeline sorts each line for you: ate, met, moved, worked, read, played, made, went, slept, and more. It shows you which word it went by, and you can tap to change it. • Each label gets its own color, so a week scans at a glance. • People, places and tags are remembered. Type +name, @place or #tag once, and after that just the name is enough. Tap Justin to see every line Justin is in. • Add a photo, or a second line for what you made of it. Or don't. • Write "wonderful" or "wiped out" and the line is marked uplifting or draining, so you can watch it add up over the months.

HABITS, CHECKED OFF Some things you don't need to write about, just to know you did: vitamins, pull-ups, a page of Japanese. • Hold a day to check it off. Forgot last night? Hold yesterday's square in the morning and pick the hour. • Your week on one grid, and a timeline of when in the day you did each one. • Slide as you hold to mark the day uplifting or draining, or to give it a number: your weight, your resting pulse, how many. • Checks stay out of your log, so "took vitamins" never crowds out the dinner. Want to say more about a day? Write a note and it becomes a line, linked to the habit. • Already write #exercise on your runs? Track the tag and those days show up with your habits. • Put a habit away and pick it up again later. The days in between don't count as missed.

READ IT BACK • Scroll your days, open a single day, or jump to any date on the calendar. • Search by person, place, tag or any word. • Charts: a year as colored dots, who you spend time with, how often things really happen, which days lift you up, and how your habits are going, numbers and all. • A world map of the places you've pinned and your photos. The map is built in, so it works offline.

LOG FROM ANYWHERE • A home-screen widget, a Quick Settings tile, and "Log a line" on the app icon. • An optional evening reminder: one notification, only on days you haven't written yet. It never shows what you wrote.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Your log lives on your phone. No account, no sign-up, no email address. • No ads, no tracking, no analytics, and your words are never used to train AI. • Writeline doesn't have permission to use the internet. Your words can't leave your phone. • Lock it behind your fingerprint or screen lock. • If your phone backs up to Google, that backup can include your log, like your other apps.

NO STREAKS, NO GUILT There's no score, no streak counter and nothing to make you feel bad about a day you missed. A quiet stretch shows up as a soft line in your log. Habits too: one you keep four days a week is still a habit. Come back whenever you like and write one line.
