Dackel

Dackel (=Dachshund) is a focus timer shaped like a dachshund. Start a session and he fills up, tail to nose, as your time runs down. When he is full, you are done.

He lives in your menu bar, no wider than a word. There is no window, no Dock icon, and nothing to manage.

WHAT IT DOES

- Set any interval you like. Twenty-five and five to start, or forty-five, or ninety. - Three dogs: plain, party hat, sunglasses. - Adapts on its own to light mode and dark mode. - Cycle through "Focus", "Short Break" and "Long Break" sessions as you wish. We are neither forcing you to take a break, nor to focus. - After closing the lid, the timer does not continue. - Gives a short timer finish notification, if you want it to. - Launches at login, quietly, if you want it to.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

No account. No sync. No cloud. No streaks to protect, no weekly report telling you that you were less productive than last week, no badge nagging at you from the Dock.

It does not block websites or take your apps away. It does not stop you mid-sentence when the time runs out. The dog simply finishes filling and gives you a notification (if you want him to).

There is no task list, because you already have one.

MADE SMALL ON PURPOSE

The Dackel is drawn by hand, pixel by pixel. It uses almost no memory and no network at all. Nothing leaves your Mac.
