3D Earth Wallpaper

3D Earth Wallpaper turns your Mac's desktop into a live window on our planet.

A realistic, physically lit 3D Earth sits behind your desktop icons and windows, showing the world as it is right now: today's cloud cover from weather satellites, active hurricanes and typhoons, the real position of the Sun with a soft day–night line, glowing city lights on the night side, the Moon and the planets in a true star sky.

LIVE WEATHER • Global cloud map from weather satellites, refreshed every 30 minutes (adjustable) • Active tropical storms, hurricanes and typhoons, labelled with name, category and wind speed (NOAA National Hurricane Center and GDACS) • A 24-hour cloud history that replays the last day of weather in time-lapse modes

A REAL SKY • The Sun, Moon and planets where they actually are, computed for the current moment • Moon phases and earthshine, a real star catalogue and the Milky Way • Sunrise and sunset rim light, atmospheric haze, ocean sun glint and city lights that fade in at dusk

VIEWS AND MOTION • Moon beside the Earth, Above my location, or Sunrise behind the Earth • Real time, a slow 360° spin, a time-lapse, or a day-and-night time-lapse above your location • Explore mode: full screen, drag to rotate, zoom in with the mouse or keyboard, Esc to return • Presets to get a great look in one click, plus detailed settings for clouds, lighting, sky and performance

MADE FOR THE MAC • Lives in the menu bar (globe icon), no Dock icon • One wallpaper per display, follows display changes, Spaces and sleep/wake • Pauses automatically when the desktop is covered, when the screen is locked or asleep, and on battery power (optional) • Native app for Apple silicon and Intel, macOS 13 Ventura or later • Optional Open at login, settings export and import

PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. 3D Earth only downloads public weather and map images; your settings and location stay on your Mac.
