Fumori brings lessons, spaced repetition and a personal Japanese reader into one quiet study space. Learn something new, recall it in your own words, then meet it in a sentence. Your study works offline and stays on your device.

LEARN AT YOUR PACE Start with kana or tell Fumori which scripts you already know. Set a gentle daily limit and explore vocabulary, sentence patterns, radicals and kanji. Bundled kana and vocabulary pronunciation includes normal and slow playback.

RECALL, WITHOUT THE PRESSURE Type your answers, practise listening and try optional kanji handwriting. Reviews adapt to your answers, with separate schedules for different skills. Short sessions save your place, so you can stop and return when you have time. There are no streaks to protect.

READ SOMETHING THAT INTERESTS YOU Explore supported readings or bring your own Japanese. Paste text, import a text file or capture a screenshot. Look up words, collect useful phrases, keep notes and bookmarks, and add language from your reading to your reviews. Screenshot recognition runs on device and requires iOS 16 or later; check its editable preview before saving. Each passage supports up to 5,000 characters.

MAKE PRACTICE YOUR OWN Choose your Japanese text size, furigana, line spacing, contrast and playback pace. Read one sentence at a time, repeat audio and adjust pauses in word practice. Pause listening reviews or use Reveal & self-grade; self-assessed results are labelled in your progress.

A USEFUL FREE START Learn all 208 kana sounds and combinations, ten starter words and introductory sentence patterns. Explore four supported readings, keep three personal passages and add 20 distinct Reader words or phrases to reviews. Reviews and backups remain available.

MORE ROOM WITH FUMORI CORE An optional one-time in-app purchase unlocks the full bundled curriculum, all 12 supported readings, a library of up to 200 passages and Reader reviews beyond the free allowance. Core has no recurring subscription. The purchase screen shows your local price. Future separately sold content and online services are not included.

YOUR STUDY, ON YOUR DEVICE No account, advertising or developer analytics. Export a backup to keep a copy of your progress or move to another device. Study progress does not sync automatically. Purchases and restoration require access to Apple's store. Reader speech outside the bundled vocabulary depends on an available Japanese system voice.
