KarmaDisk: Find Photos

Pictures in Downloads. Old camera folders. Photos saved here, there and everywhere. KarmaDisk helps you find them on your Mac, bring them together in Apple Photos, and see where you can save space.

FIND YOUR PICTURES Choose the folders to search. Browse large previews of your photos and videos, pick the ones you want, and leave the rest alone.

BRING THEM TOGETHER IN PHOTOS Create an album or choose one you already have. KarmaDisk adds your selected pictures to Apple Photos and checks the copies. Your original files stay in their folders. Adding these copies may use more space.

SMALLER FILES. THE SAME PICTURE. Turn on optional compression when adding pictures to Photos. A supported image is stored smaller only after KarmaDisk checks that the picture and its details, such as the date and camera, are unchanged. Pictures that can be imported but not made smaller are added unchanged.

You can also make supported image files smaller in their folders. KarmaDisk checks the result and keeps the original files so you can restore them. Savings vary; some pictures are already as small as this lossless method can make them.

SEE WHERE YOUR SPACE GOES Use a visual storage map to find large files. Compare identical copies and review old downloads. Choose the files you no longer need and move them to Trash.

CHECK FIRST. THEN CHOOSE. After an import, KarmaDisk can check that a complete copy is still available in Photos. Only then do you choose whether to remove the original file. Removing originals is a separate step. Importing alone never deletes them.

YOUR MAC. YOUR CHOICE. Choose which folders KarmaDisk can access. File analysis happens on your Mac. No KarmaDisk account, advertising or tracking.

Good to know • Finds existing pictures in the folders you allow; it does not recover deleted photos. • Adds pictures to your System Photo Library. If you use iCloud Photos, Apple may sync them to iCloud, where they can use iCloud storage. • Does not change pictures already in your Photos library. • Adding pictures to Photos creates copies and may use more space. Files in Trash, and originals kept so you can restore them, still take up space until you remove them. Actual space reclaimed can vary. • The App Store edition does not uninstall apps or remove their private data.
