Verlofsaldo: Parental Leave

How much parental leave do you have left, and when do the paid weeks need to be used? Rijksoverheid.nl explains the rules but doesn't do the math for you. Verlofsaldo does — in hours, per child and per employer, with both deadlines always in view.

Add your child, your employer and your weekly contract hours. Verlofsaldo calculates your entitlement in hours (26 × your contract hours), splits it into the paid part (9 weeks, to be taken in the first year) and the unpaid remainder (usable until your child turns 8), and keeps track of what you've already taken.

HOW IT WORKS - Children: record each child's employer(s) and contract hours; every child and employer gets its own, independent entitlement. - Balance: see your paid and unpaid hours at a glance, plus both deadlines — the date the paid weeks expire, and the 8th birthday. - Take-up log: record how many hours you took on each day off; the balance updates immediately. - Reminder: one local notification for the deadline that matters most — the paid weeks in year one.

Verlofsaldo is a personal tracking app, not an official calculator from UWV or the Dutch government, and not an HR system. Every figure is in hours; no euro amount is ever shown or calculated.

FREE - 1 child × 1 employer, fully and permanently usable - Full calculation: entitlement, paid vs. unpaid, running balance - Both deadlines always visible on the Balance screen - One reminder: the paid-weeks deadline in year one - Take-up log: manual entries

VERLOFSALDO PRO (one-time purchase) - Unlimited children and employers - Partner view: see both of your balances side by side for the conversation at home - Recurring pattern in the take-up log (e.g. "every other Friday"), filled in automatically - What-if planner: try out a take-up pattern and see whether you'll meet the deadline, without touching your real log - Recalculation when contract hours change, with the method shown - Reminders for the 8th-birthday deadline and the UWV application window - PDF summary per child/employer for a conversation with HR

Verlofsaldo Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

Changing employer? Your remaining leave carries over to your new employer — Verlofsaldo transfers the balance instead of starting over, and reminds you of the declaration you can request from your old employer.

Verlofsaldo calculates hours based on the legal rules (Wet betaald ouderschapsverlof/WAZO, rijksoverheid.nl, UWV.nl). This is not legal or financial advice and shows no euro amounts; check your situation with your employer, UWV or an adviser.
