Pymote: Mopidy HiFi Remote

Pymote is a remote control for Mopidy — not a music player.

Your music never plays on your iPhone or iPad. It plays on your own Mopidy server, straight into the DAC and hi-fi system connected to it. Pymote is the remote: browse your library, pick an album, control playback and see exactly what your DAC is receiving, from the couch.

What you need: a Mopidy server on your home network (Mopidy 4 with its HTTP frontend), ideally with Mopidy-Local for your own files and Mopidy-Tidal for streaming. No server yet? Tap "Try Demo Mode" to explore the app with a fictional library.

LINER NOTES, BACK ON SCREEN • Full credits for every track: musicians and their instruments, composers, producers and engineers • Album reviews and artist biographies • Your own rips are matched to TIDAL to fill in credits, reviews and bios when your tags don't have them

Some features — audio format and bit-perfect info, credits, reviews, bios, favorites and library updates — use mopidy-goodies, a free, open-source Mopidy extension (github.com/prietus/mopidy-goodies). It's optional: without it Pymote still browses, searches and controls playback.

Pymote does not collect any data. It talks only to the Mopidy server you point it at.
