StitchPreview: Embroidery View

"Preview embroidery designs right in Finder. StitchPreview gives supported files stitch-based thumbnails and an interactive Space-bar Quick Look preview on Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. Scan a folder visually, compare similar designs and inspect the file you want before opening your usual embroidery software.

After installing and enabling the Quick Look extensions in macOS, browse supported files in Finder. Icon and Gallery views show a thumbnail based on decoded stitches. Select a file and press Space for a larger preview. Zoom, pan or fit the design to the window; inspect design boundaries, color blocks, measurements and an optional hoop overlay. The information panel explains which statistics are available for that file and which are unknown.

Bounded stitch previews are available for verified families of PES, DST, JEF, EXP, PEC, VP3, SEW, XXX, PCM, PCS, PCD, PCQ files. Support is intentionally limited to structures we have checked, so a familiar extension does not guarantee that every file from every producer or version will preview. Unsupported, damaged or over-budget files receive a clear local message instead of a guessed picture.

EMB works differently: when an EMB file contains a readable embedded preview image, StitchPreview displays that saved image and labels it as an EMB embedded-image preview. It does not decode EMB stitches or infer stitch counts, physical size or thread colors from that image.

Your requested file is processed locally and read-only. StitchPreview needs no account, does not upload your designs and does not change the app that opens embroidery files when you double-click them. Its interface is available in English and Simplified Chinese; other App Store languages describe the product but are not additional interface languages.

Display colors for formats without verified physical thread data are preview colors. Hoop fit compares dimensions and is not a production-safety guarantee.
