Systemsol

Sol is a living model of the Solar System, built from hundreds of thousands of glowing particles, and every world in it comes apart in your hands.

Tap the Sun, a planet, the Moon or Pluto, and the camera flies you in. Then peel it. Atmosphere, oceans, crust, mantle and core lift away layer by layer, and each one packs itself into a cube beside the planet, drawn to the same scale as the body wherever it fits on screen. You can see at a glance how thin Earth's crust really is, or how much of Jupiter is hydrogen.

EXPLORE - The whole system turns in the dark, with the planets at their real positions for today's date - Drag to orbit, pinch to zoom, tap any world or choose one from the list - Run time from paused up to a year per second and watch the planets circle the Sun - Asteroid belt, Kuiper belt, Saturn's rings and the Sun's boiling corona.

Distances and sizes are compressed so every planet fits on one screen, and orbits are shown as circles. Spin speeds keep their real proportions.
