Museday – Daily Art Widget

A masterpiece on your Home Screen, every morning.

Museday is an art-of-the-day app for iPhone. Each night at midnight, a new painting takes its place in your Home Screen widget — a quiet museum visit every time you unlock your phone.

One-time purchase. No subscription, no ads, no account. Works offline.

■ 511 masterpieces Van Gogh, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Renoir, Seurat, Botticelli, Klimt — and more than 280 other artists, from The Night Watch and The Milkmaid to Japanese ink painting. Every painting is built into the app, so there is nothing to download and nothing to wait for.

■ Made to be looked at ・Home Screen widgets in Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large (iOS 27), plus Lock Screen widgets ・Open “About this painting” to read the museum's own story of the work — in 18 languages ・Browse paintings by theme (landscapes, people, flowers & still life, sea & water, animals, towns & buildings), period or museum ・Save the ones you love to favorites, and look back over the last 7 days

■ Free ・See it in person: open the museum that holds each painting in Apple Maps ・Today's painting in a Small widget ・Lock Screen widgets ・The museum's text, favorites, the last 7 days and Browse

■ Pro — pay once, keep it ・Medium and Large widgets, so the painting can fill the space it deserves — with its title, or the painting only ・An Extra Large widget (iOS 27): the painting tall and large, with its title, artist and year and a few lines of its story — or the painting only ・Widgets that show your favorites, a theme, a period, or a museum ・Every painting so far, with filters by period, museum and artist Pro is a one-time in-app purchase. It is not a subscription and never renews.

■ Where the paintings come from Images are public-domain (CC0) releases from the Art Institute of Chicago, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Rijksmuseum and the National Gallery of Art. Texts are by the Art Institute of Chicago (CC BY 4.0) and the Rijksmuseum (CC0); translations are by Museday and are marked as such in the app.

■ Privacy Your favorites and settings stay on your iPhone. Museday never records which paintings you look at. To improve the app, only anonymous usage (the app was opened, a widget was displayed) is sent — never your name, email or advertising ID. You can turn it off in Settings.
