Umber: Coffee by the Numbers

Umber is a coffee app built around your canisters. Each one keeps its coffee, the grind you dialed in and how many servings are left, so the right number is there every morning.

DIAL IN ONCE PER BAG • Pull a shot or brew a cup, then rate it sour or bitter. Umber suggests the next grind in your grinder's own units. • Lock the sweet spot, and the canister keeps it until the bag runs out. • New bags get a suggested starting grind. • An hour after a shot, Umber can ask how it tasted.

SCAN A BAG ONCE • Point the camera at the label, and your iPhone reads it on the device: roaster, origin, process and tasting notes, then the roast date stamped or stuck on the bottom. • Each bag shows whether it's resting, ready or past its peak.

YOUR CANISTER SHELF • Every canister's coffee, grind and servings left at a glance. • Tap a canister's NFC sticker to open it and hear its grind. Works with any NTAG213, 215 or 216 sticker, sold separately. • Each brew method keeps its own dose. Weigh a canister and Umber corrects what's left and learns your real dose. • Ask Siri "What's my grind in Umber" or "Pull a shot from canister two in Umber". • Lost a coffee? Ask Siri "Where's my coffee in Umber", or tap stickers until Umber finds it. • Widgets keep your house canister on the Home Screen.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no ads and no analytics. Your library stays on your iPhone and, with Pro, in your private iCloud. • Export your library as a CSV file any time.

Works with 21 grinder profiles, including the Turin DF64 and other stepless grinders.

Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription (the yearly plan starts with a 1-week free trial), or a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings.
