Amberjar: Expiration Tracker

Em resumo
Amberjar: Expiration Tracker reads printed dates on food and medicine packaging with the iPhone camera, then counts them down and shows what to use first. It is for people who want to keep track of what is in their home without typing dates by hand. One standout detail: it treats use-by and best-before dates differently and sets reminders for critical medicines like epinephrine pens 60, 30 and 7 days ahead.

Amberjar reads the date on the label, so you don't have to type it.
Point your iPhone at a yogurt lid, a milk carton or a box of pills. Amberjar finds the printed date, whether it says USE BY, BEST BEFORE or EXP, and counts it down for you. Then it tells you what to use first.
THE JAR Your home's dates live in one glass jar. Every dot is something that can go off, and amber dots are the ones to use soon. Open it and your shelf is sorted by what needs you: past its date, use today, use soon, later.
IT READS THE LABEL • Reads printed dates with your camera, right on your iPhone • A pack with a 2D code gives its exact date • Barcodes fill in the product name • No label? Just type it: "milk fri", "ibuprofen exp 03/27", "leftover curry" • Amberjar guesses what it is and where it lives; change either with a tap
IT KNOWS WHAT THE DATE MEANS • Use-by is about safety, best-before about quality. Amberjar treats them differently, and tells you when a best-before food is often still fine • Opened something? The once-opened clock takes over: hummus keeps about 5 days, from the label or USDA FoodKeeper data • Freezing pauses the clock • Undated produce and leftovers get a typical shelf life
THE MEDICINE CABINET • Note what each medicine is for, its form and strength, and who it's for • Expired medicines are flagged plainly • Epinephrine pens, inhalers and other critical medicines get reminders 60, 30 and 7 days ahead: time to get a new one
ONE NOTE A DAY One reminder at the time you choose, and only on days something needs you. Medicines get notice 30 days ahead, a week ahead and on the day. No pile of alerts.
A 60-SECOND SWEEP Once a week, flick through what might have changed: used, tossed or still there. Your shelf stays true without an inventory to keep up.
NO ACCOUNT There's nothing to sign up for. Your shelf, its photos and your medicines stay on your iPhone and come with you in your iPhone backup. Export everything as a spreadsheet any time. When your iPhone can't read a label itself, the photo is sent to be read and isn't stored by us.
WIDGETS AND SHORTCUTS See what to use first on your Home Screen, or open the camera from Control Center, the Action button or Shortcuts.
FREE, OR PLUS Amberjar is free for 5 things at a time, with every feature. Amberjar Plus keeps everything, with no limit, billed monthly or yearly.
