Typeproof – Markdown Read/Edit

Typeproof is a Markdown reader and editor built for people who care how text looks. On your iPhone and iPad, Typeproof renders Markdown with print-level fidelity — refined paragraph breaking, publication-grade CJK typesetting, and real LaTeX mathematics. And when you need to change a word, you can edit right where you read. READ WITH CONFIDENCE • Faithful Markdown rendering: tables that keep their alignment, fenced code blocks, footnotes, strikethrough, task lists. • Knuth–Plass line breaking for beautifully justified, evenly spaced paragraphs. • CJK typography rules: dedicated punctuation and line-breaking rules for Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese, including kinsoku (禁則処理) — no more stray punctuation at line starts. REAL LATEX MATHEMATICS • Inline and display LaTeX: inline formulas share the text baseline and flow with the words around them; display formulas are centered, just like in a typeset book. • Matrices, piecewise functions, alignment, accents, operators and the entire Greek alphabet — in either position. MORE THAN PROSE • Images in SVG, PNG and JPEG, placed inline or centered — including fully animated SVGs, played in full. • Tables, syntax-highlighted code, numbered and tappable footnotes, GitHub-style alerts, and full emoji support. • Audio and video links in your documents play right inside the app. • Everything is selectable — copy any text, formula or code with a tap. • Handles large documents with ease — Markdown files up to 200 MB open and render smoothly. EDIT WHERE YOU READ • Full source editing — edit the Markdown source directly, save, and instantly preview the result with the same print-quality typesetting. • Open local Markdown files and folders; everything you change stays on your device. FROM ANYWHERE ON THE WEB • Paste a link to any Markdown file on the web — GitHub repos and gists, Hugging Face model cards and datasets, personal blogs, documentation sites, or any raw .md URL — and download it for offline reading and editing. • Note: the downloaded copy lives on your device — edits are not synced back to the remote file, so upload it yourself when you're done. STAY ORGANIZED • Outline tree — jump to any heading in long documents instantly. • Tabs — keep multiple documents open at once and switch in a tap. • Reading themes for day and night, easy on the eyes during long sessions. EXPORT & SHARE • Export to PDF and PNG, preserving the typeset layout exactly as you see it — ready to share, print, or archive. PRIVACY BY DESIGN • No account. No sign-up. No tracking. Your documents never leave your device. Whether you're reviewing a README, studying lecture notes full of formulas, or polishing documentation across three languages, Typeproof makes Markdown look the way it deserves.
