Kort sagt

Bird ID & Sounds (Warbla) identifies birds on an iPhone either from live song or from a photo, with both tools running on the device, so they work offline. It is aimed at birdwatchers and learners, and it limits suggestions to species found in the user's chosen region. One notable point is that microphone audio is analyzed on the phone and never recorded or uploaded.

Om appen

Warbla tells you which bird is singing, or which bird is in your photo, right on your iPhone. Both identifiers run on the device, so they keep working on a trail with no signal or in airplane mode. There is no account to create.

IDENTIFY BY SONG • Tap Listen and hold your iPhone toward the sound • Warbla listens live in 5-second windows and names the birds it hears • Microphone audio is analyzed on your iPhone and is never recorded, saved or uploaded

IDENTIFY BY PHOTO • Take a photo or choose one from your library • Pinch to frame the bird, then tap Identify • Matches come from the same list of nearly 10,000 bird species

ONLY THE BIRDS WHERE YOU ARE Pick your region: North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Middle East, South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia or Australia & NZ. Warbla then suggests only birds that live there. No location permission needed.

FIELD GUIDE • 9,956 bird species, searchable by name in your language • The most common birds come first • Around 900 species have a photo and about 270 have an example song from Wikimedia Commons, credited in the app • Common names in many languages, from Wikidata

YOUR JOURNAL • Add a sighting straight from Listen or Photo • Browse all sightings or your life list • Keep count of your species and sightings

FREE AND PRO Free: 3 identifications a day, by sound or photo. The field guide and journal are always free. Warbla Pro: unlimited identifications. Choose weekly, monthly or yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings. The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not renew.

No ads, no analytics, no account. Warbla is for iPhone and is not affiliated with any ornithological institution.
